Happy Fall
Once again I've been lapse in updating my site. I've had a busy year getting classes arranged at Tomorrow's Treasures in
Crofton, MD. Last fall Tomorrow's Treasures became a Bernina dealer. I was at a loss after the store I had taught in
for years closed. So when Tomorrow's Treasures became a Bernina dealer I was so happy. I am now back to teaching the
Bernina digitizing software, new owner classes, embroidery and sewing classes. This summer I went to San Antonio, TX
for 2011 Bernina University. I met so many wonderful stitching friends and instructors. There weren't as many new products
as I had hoped but the new products are great! There are 3 new sewing machines, the 5 Series, a new hoop attachment
to do free arm embroidery, a Spanish Hemstitch Foot. I can't wait to get my hands on the new Hemstitch Foot. I go to
training for the new 580 Sewing/Embroidery machine the end of September. Next week our son finally gets married. We'll
get a daughter-in-law and two grandsons. It will be a beach wedding so I hope the weather holds up. I've been busy with wedding
sewing, but thankfully not the wedding dress. I have some other new classes coming up as soon as the class samples are
made. Look for some classes by Michelle's Designs and some 830 specific classes. Happy Stitching everyone. Sandy

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas
Thanksgiving is now over and the official rush of the season is on. Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our son's
home. The food was great and the company of friends and family was truly a blessing. I'm working on decorating the house
- the tree is up and the remainder of the house is waiting. Today I made a Christmas stocking for my grand-dog Maxie and monogrammed
another stocking for my other grand-dog Spike. There are some new members in our family and I need to get busy and make more
stockings for the mantle. I'm also working on a Christmas tree topper from Holleyberry. It's going to be embroidered red satin,
white satin and organza. The head and hands are porcelain. It will be just beautiful when finished. And there are other gifts
to get started and to finish. I have lots of new classes coming up next year. There will be a "Stitchers Garden"
appliqued quilt, Hoopsisters TNT, Jenny Haskins and Scrap Therapy. I'm pretty sure there will be even more as the year gets
started. And hopefully I'll be able to teach the Bernina software again if we gain a new dealer in our area. I wish
everyone a wonderful Christmas season. Be happy, be safe, and be thankful for all we have. Share with those less fortunate
and pray for our loved ones and friends that are away in the military or some other situation. And don't forget the
most important thing about Christmas - JESUS - is the reason for the season! Sandy

Summer is ending
Summer is on the way out and we head into fall. I love when the leaves change their colors. It makes such a beautiful background
for projects. It seems we hardly get into our fall projects when it's time for Christmas projects. I always seem to
be at the last minute doing the Christmas projects, all the while promising I'll start earlier next year. Along with
summer ending, I am also losing a wonderful fabric store. The store I have been teaching in for many years is closing it's
doors next week. Bad economy and personal reasons have forced the owner to close the store. I've made many sewing friends
at the store and I've learned so much from teaching there. It's been a great experience teaching at the Fabric Chest and I
will sadly miss the store, the owners, the personnel and all my wonderful ladies that have supported me in taking my classes.
So I'm moving on to other locations, meeting new friends and having new experiences. Check out my class pages
for new updates on classes and where they will be.
This summer I worded on Scrap Therapy projects, a really cute
Holiday Redwork Quilt, some Jenny Haskins projects (look for the Heritage Quilt to be a class starting next year), and lots
of embroidery projects. If you haven't sewn in a while, get that machine out of the closet, dust it off and then get creative.
Until next time - Happy Stitching - Sandy

Summer is in full swing although it hasn't felt like it as far as the weather goes. I went to Quilt Market in Pittsburg,
PA this spring. What a fun time that was - and so overwhelming. I saw lots and lots of beautiful fabrics, new
notions, went to some fun classes and met wonderful, sewing people. I came home with lots of ideas for future classes.
My quilt was raffled off at the New Baltimore, PA 4th of July picnic. Over 500 tickets were sold. I never met the
winner since they drew the ticket numbers by the PA State lottery. I was disappointed in that. I'd like to know that
my quilt went to a loving home and will be well taken care of. Jean Gentry from Quilt N Forget generously did the quilting
free of charge. She does lovely work.
I received the best present ever from my hubby for our anniversary/birthday. When
I returned home from Quilt Market there was a beautiful Bernina 830 waiting for me to open. I was so surprised. I can't believe
he pulled that off without me knowing. Now if I just had more time to sew on it.

Happy Spring! Well, it's been a busy sewing time for me. My quilt for
the New Baltimore Church raffle is finished and in the bag for delivery. It turned out so nice. I hope they sell lots of tickets
in July. I need to generously thank Jean Gentry for donating her time to do the quilting for me. Thank you Jean.
Jean does beautiful free motion quilting. The Christening Gown that I made from the mother's
wedding dress is finished. The satin gown has lace motifs with pearl beads taken from mom's gown. I took the hem off the
wedding gown and put it on the Christening gown hem and the sleeves. I can't wait to see the baby in it.
My flannel quilt is finished, except for the quilting. I'll get to that later on. It's starting to be warm and I don't
like flannel in hot weather. And then their is my grand daughter's First Communion dress.
The picture does not do the dress justice. The bodice is all smocked with a pale pink beaded cross. There is also beading
at the bottom of the smocking. Her sleeves have French cotton lace - the same lace I used in her Christening Gown 8 years
ago. There are several rows of pleats on the bottom of the dress with a scalloped embroidered trim. Maria had a big
day with her First Communion and a party afterwards with lots of relatives in for the occasion. And the other picture
is Maria with her very handsome brother, Dylan. What am I working on now that these heirloom
and quilting items are done? I have some new Jenny Haskins classes I'm working on doing the samples. And a new embroidery/quilting
class from Hoopsisters. They have some wonderful quilt/embroidery projects. I'm also planning a class to do embroidery
on blank items - towels, shirts, linens, etc. And I have my ladies in therapy class - Scrap Therapy - always looking
for a new project to transform all those scraps they have been cutting. Check back often for a list
of new classes coming up. And thanks for stopping by my website. Happy Sewing!!

Welcome to Stitching and Fringes! I have been in business since 2004,
and I pride myself on providing customers with the best-quality products and personal service. I would be delighted to have
you in one of my sewing classes. Please check the calender for a listing of my classes. You can also order from me using
the on-line contacts page or contacting me by phone. I offer beautiful Christening gowns and other heirloom items for
purchase. I have been sewing since I was 9 years old. I started by sewing a simple skirt in our local 4-H
club. After many years in 4-H I started sewing for my home, then my children and now my grandchildren. When my first
grandson came along I just had to have an embroidery machine. When my granddaughter was born I started sewing heirloom garments,
starting with her Christening gown. I love to do heirloom sewing which includes Christening gowns, heirlooms for babies, linens
and even wedding accessories. I have attended three licensings classes with Martha Pullen in the heirloom curriculum as well
as the serger curriculum. I recently attended the first Jenny Haskins Academy of Certified Tutors and I am now certified
to teach as a Jenny Haskins tutor. Most of my classes are held at the Fabric Chest in Glen Burnie, MD. I teach
the Bernina Artista Software, advanced embroidery, heirloom and quilting classes.
I take an enormous pride in creating my products, and hope that you'll find something in my catalog that you like.
I also can create custom orders; call or email and let me know what you want. I look forward to doing business with
you.
